Attack in Hazelbank Park (15 December 2004)

Police in Newtownabbey are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which occurred at about 8pm on Friday 10 December in Hazlebank Park. A 40 year old woman was attacked from behind and stabbed in the chest by an assailant who is described as being a white male of about 5' 9" to 5' 10" in height, approximately 30 years old with a bald or shaven head, with a round, clean-shaven face. If you were at Hazlebank Park on that night or if you think you know who the attacker is, the police would like to hear from you. They are not concerned with what you may have been doing in the park. Contact the police on 028 90650222. Ask for police at Newtownabbey. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. If you do not wish to contact the police, you can report any information to The Rainbow Project on 028 90319030 or email projectofficer.belfast@rainbow-project.com.
